The Chick Corea Elektric Band is one of the most influential electric jazz bands of all time, a legendary quintet that combines jazz, rock, funk and Latin music. The Chick Corea Elektric Band has already released eight albums and completed several world tours.
The band has never stood still, constantly working on their sound and their music, focusing at various times on electric fusion, a more acoustic sound, or funk. The band has always kept up with the times, while never shying away from experimenting with modern sound and technologies.
Other musicians have been a part of the Elektric Band, but the following line-up has always been recognised as the golden quintet: Chick Corea, Eric Marienthal on alto saxophone, Frank Gambale on guitar, John Patitucci on bass and Dave Weckl on drums. These five came together to record the band’s second album, Light Years, in 1987, and they went on to record four more albums that are now considered classics of modern jazz and fusion. Each member of the Chick Corea Elektric Band is, beyond doubt, a worldwide celebrity.
