Hiromi was born on March 26, 1979 in the Japanese city of Hamamatsu. When she was 5 years old, he began taking classical piano lessons. Soon, thanks to one of her teachers, she met with jazz. Hiromi’s first idols became Erroll Garner and Oscar Peterson. When she was 6 years old, the young pianist entered Yamaha School of Music, and when she was 14 she already played with the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra. Three years later, at the age 17, she met and even play with the legendary Chick Corea in Tokyo. It was not the only meeting of Corea and Hiromi. The legendary musician will play an important role in the career of Hiromi and subsequently a duet album of the two pianists will be released. In 1999 Hiromi moved to the US, where she graduated from the famous Berklee College of Music at Boston, Massachusetts. In 2003, she started a solo career. She concluded the contract with the prestigious Telarc label with the assistance of another American musician, who played an important role in Hiromi’s musical career, the legendary pianist Ahmad Jamal. He also produced the first album of the young pianist entitled «Another Mind». In Japan, the disc has reached gold status (more than 100,000 copies were sold).

In addition to her own successful and interesting career, Hiromi also acts as a sideman at recordings with the other musicians. For example, the “The Stanley Clarke Band” album of the famous bassist Stanley Clarke in which Hiromi played won a Grammy in 2011 in the prestigious category "Best Contemporary Jazz Album."

Hiromi prefers to work in a piano trio format. One of the most famous and interesting compositions in the pianist’s career is called The Trio Project. Hiromi plays there with famous musicians, namely bassist Anthony Jackson and drummer Simon Phillips. The trio has two studio albums and one live album, as well as several tours. The Alfa Jazz Fest 2015 visitors will be able to enjoy the inventiveness and virtuosity of the musicians. The Trio Project will perform on June 28 at Eddie Rosner’s scene.
