A Cuban-born resident of Switzerland, violinist and vocalist Yilian Cañizares won the Montreux Jazz Festival Competition in 2008. The sound of her new programme washes away the boundaries between jazz, Afro-Cuban and classical music. Invocación (Challenge) shows all the diversity of her musical world.
