Trilok Gurtu is a famous percussionist and composer who united in his art such genres as jazz fusion and world music. Throughout a long career the musician has collaborated with such stars of modern jazz and pop music, as John McLaughlin, Charlie Mariano, Don Cherry, Terje Rypdal, Gary Moore, Jan Garbarek, Joe Zawinul and many others, was an Oregon jazz-folk band member.
From the early childhood, Trilok Gurtu learned to play Indian percussion instrument called tabla, and by the age of twenty having become interested in jazz, he has mastered the traditional drum machine. Trilok Gurtu is known as a master of traditional Indian vocal improvisation, which is combined with game on percussion.
The musician will perform with pianist Jesse Milliner, bassist Jonathan Ihlenfeld and trumpeter Frederik Köster.
