Friendly match to celebrate the memory of Andrii Bal will take place in Lviv within Alfa Jazz Fest
On June 26, 2017, 4 football events will take place in Lviv to celebrate the memory of the famous Ukrainian football player Andrii Bal. The matches supported by Ukrsotsbank and Alfa-Bank Ukraine will be held at the main sport venue of the city – Arena Lviv – as part of Alfa Jazz Fest annual international jazz festival. The idea to organize an event belongs to Oleksii Mykhailychenko, another famous Ukrainian football player and coach and a friend of Andrii Bal.
The central event of the day will be a match in memory of Andrii Bal, the legendary "number eight" of "Dynamo", featuring Andrii’s friends – well-known football veterans, participants of world cups, who played under the flags of Dynamo Kyiv, Karpaty Lviv and a number of other famous clubs. Oleksii Mykhailychenko, Anatolii Demianenko, Volodymyr Bezsonov, Vasyl Rats, Oleh Luzhnyi, Oleksandr Shovkovskyi, Volodymyr Yezerskyi, Viktor Rafalchuk, Anatolii Saulevych and other residents of the hall of fame of the Ukrainian football will take part in friendly matches as players and coaches. In addition to star football players, Orest Bal, a younger brother of Andrii, will also attend.
This will also be a day for the national record: 100 kids from all over Ukraine will face the united team of football stars at Arena Lviv! All children will hit field all at once to play against the friends of Andrii Bal. To make this possible, Football24, official media partner of the event, created a special website, where everybody can register his or her child and take part in the unique match.
On the same day Arena Lviv will host another part of the main football-jazz event of the year: a friendly match between the friends of Andrii Bal and the winners of the annual Ukrainian children's football cup named after Andrii Bal.
In addition to sport programme, the football day has its social filling. With the support of Alfa-Bank and Ukrsotsbank, children from socially unprotected families and refugees will be able to visit the holiday. Specially for them the programme provides for a meeting with football stars, an autograph session and football gifts.
