The famous American band Yellowjackets will perform at Alfa Jazz Fest 2017
Yellowjackets - the famous American fusion quartet, multiple nominee and Grammy Award winner. On June 24 at stage dedicated to Eddie Rosner will perform Russell Ferrante (keyboard), Bob Mintzer (saxophone), Dane Alderson (bass) and William Kennedy (drums).
Russell Ferrante is an American jazz pianist, composer and arranger. He wrote music and recorded with such musicians as Bobby McFerrin, Al Jarreau, Diane Reeves, Eric Marienthal and others; wrote arrangements for Take 6, The GRP Big Band, Lee Ritenour and others.
Bob Mintzer plays with numerous bands all over the world and recently became the main conductor of the WDR Big Band in Cologne, Germany. He writes books about jazz, created more than 200 arrangements for a big band, and performs with his quartet.
William Kennedy is an incredible drummer. In recent years, he was a drummer on The Wayne Brady Show on ABC channel and other television shows. He continues to do sessions, performs music for the movie "Lady Killers" directed by Coen brothers and starring Tom Hanks, records with Mick Jagger / Dave Stewart for the soundtrack to the movie "Alfie" starring Jude Law.
Dane Alderson is a bass player, regular participant of prestigious jazz festivals. He performs with the West Australian Symphony Orchestra, Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra and BBC Orchestra, as well as such famous musicians as Stanley Jordan, Paul Bollenback, Victor Wooten and many others.
