Nikolay Moiseenko was born in Moscow,Russia. He started playing at the age of 8. At the age of 14 he was accepted to Moscow musical college which he finished in 1997. In 1998 Nikolay got accepted to the Russian Academy of Music to study with Aleksander Oseichuk, who was a great influence. In 2001 Nikolay together with Moscow funk band "Cher-ta" released their first album Wind & Dust on the indie label "Landy Star Music". In 2002 he completed his Master Degree in performance at Russian Academy of Music named after Gnesins. By that time he was perfofming with Igor Butman big band, Oleg Butman, Oleg Lundstrem big band, Nikolay Arutyunov,Debora Brown, Inaya Day, Andrey Kondakov, Cher-ta. In 2002 he became a member of one of the most successful Moscow funk/jam bands "Sunlight". In 2003 Nikolay won the all-Russian Young Jazz Performers Competition among sax players. In that same year "Cher-ta" released their second album "Illussions" on the "Boheme-Music" label. In 2004 Nikolay was awarded a scholarship to Berklee College of Music and moved to Boston in 2005. He studies with George Garzone, Dave Fiuczynski, Dave Samuels, Herb Pomeroy among others. Nikolay performed with Dave Fiuczynski, Kenwood Dennard, Daniel Sadovnik, Me'shell N'degeocello,Paolo Lattanzi,Maxim Lubarsky band, Steve Jenkins, Scoota Warner, Marcus Miller (fox 25 morning show),Galactic He has played at the Blue Note (N.Y.) , Small's, Regatta Bar, Hermitaje Jazz Festival-St.Peterburg, JazzQ Festival, Jazz v Sady Hermitaje Festival-Moscow, Usadba Jazz Festival, North Sea Jazz Festival
