Gordon Goodwin's Big Phat Band was founded by successful composer and arranger Gordon Goodwin. His Big Phat Band brings together a team of true professionals, all-around musicians capable of performing any kind of music, be it swing, Latin jazz, blues, classical or rock. The band came together by chance. In 1999, Gordon put together a large line-up to record an album. The combination of 18 musicians was so exciting that right after the album was released, people started calling Gordon to arrange concerts, and the album Swingin’ for the Fences, which the Big Phat Band was actually created for, received two Grammy Award nominations. Since then, each of the band’s subsequent albums has been a complete success, and and giveninjected new impulse energy into their quest for on their way towards excellence to. The band has worked with Arturo Sandoval, Patti Austin, Chick Corea, Lee Ritenour, Michael Brecker, Brian McKnight, Take 6 and others. Gordon Goodwin’s Big Phat Band has won several Grammy Awards and received numerous other Grammy nominations.
