Giovanni Guidi – Gianluca Petrella «SOUPSTAR» is a duet of Italian musicians.
Giovanni Guidi is a pianist who became well-known due to participation in various projects of the famous Italian trumpeter Enrico Rava. In addition to the partnership with Gianluca Petrella, Giovanni is a leader of his own trio and quartet, which perform his author's music. The last two albums of musicians were issued by European jazz label ECM Records.
Gianluca Petrella is one of the leading modern jazz trombonists who got the top of «Down Beat Critics Poll» in the «Rising Star» nomination twice. Among his partners are leading American and European musicians: Pat Metheny, John Abercrombie, Oregon band, Enrico Rava, Stefano Bollani and many others. Gianluca also performs electronic and vanguard music.
