British jazz band, formed in 2011. Quartet has two studio albums, the last of which was published last year. Group consists of founder and leader, saxophonist, clarinetist Shabaka Hutchings, tuba player Theon Cross and drummers Max Hallett and Tom Skinner. Each of them is a noticeable figure in modern British progressive jazz scene. The performers have already attracted attention by participating in many projects, which perform a variety of music. Quartet perfectly illustrates the synthesis of musical cultures that has always been one of the most important composes the London jazz scene and perform music, which harmoniously combines Caribbean and African folk with jazz and rock.
