Volodymyr Yakymets', Yaroslav Nudyk, Bohdan Bohach and Andriy Kapral' were the first, then two other musicians - Andrii Shavala and Roman Turianyn - joined them. The main goal which brings together members of the band is to sharpen the skills of a cappella singing (no instruments) and work with a variety of musical styles. September 24, 1992 intensive rehearsals culminated in the first performance at Ivan Franko Lviv National University and the first recognition of the public.

The next year formation became a winner of Chervona Ruta ("Red Rue") Festival in Donetsk. In 1994 the jury unanimously voted for "Pikkardijska Tertsia" as the best in all genres at a Music Festival Dolya ("Destiny") in Chernivtsi. Also in 1994 male sextet signed a five-year contract with Art Association Dzyga and since then it has the same manager Roman Klymovskyy thanks to whom members can be freely engaged only in creative issues. Over two years (1994-1995) members of "Pikkardijska Tertsia" were participants in "Tavria Games". Another victory came in 1995 - the band was awarded Grand Prix of TV Song Festival Melody for the song "Pustelnyk" ("Hermit"). In 1996 a debut CD - "A Garden of Angelic Songs" - came. It was produced by Ruslana Lyzhychko and Pavlo Grabovskyy. The cover, designed by Lviv artist Yevgeniy Ravskyy, and quality of printing were recognized by independent experts as the best CD of that time in Ukraine.

In 2000, for the first time of the existence of the international a cappella competition «Vokal total» in Munich (Germany), the organizers invited a band from Eastern Europe "Pikkardijska Tertsia". A year later the sextet "violated" the rules of the festival - despite the constant rotation of members, the formation was invited on stage again. In 2006 "Pikkardijska Tertsia" were representatives of Ukraine in front of deputies of European Commission in Brussels (Belgium). In 2007 formation was at the prestigious festival «Top trendy» in Sopot (Poland). And this year "Pikkardijska Tertsia" celebrated Independence Day in Ukraine by grand joint concert with Ruslana and Al Di Meola accompanied by a symphony orchestra «Leopolis».

In 2007 "Pikkardijska Tertsia" celebrated its prominent anniversary - 15 years of singing a capella. Due to fruitful cooperation of all members of vocal formation they achieved an impressive result of over 300 songs of various musical styles (pop, rock, classical, folk, jazz, country, spiritual music, rock and roll, blues). Although the band's repertoire is 95% of Ukrainian-language, their asset is the songs in 12 languages. The band's geography of performances is quite impressive - sextet is often invited to Poland, Germany, Spain, Italy, France, Canada and the United States. Music critics highly appreciate intellectual work of "Pikkardijska Tertsia" that has good influence on audience tastes. The favor of critics and love expressed by the audience persuades that their work is worth the effort regardless of the location. October 7, 2007 the band celebrated 15 years of their active a capella work. The performance took place in the National Palace Ukraine where vocal formation received congratulations from the President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko, in which it was stated: "I appreciate your contribution to the development of Ukrainian culture, unique vocal tradition and service to the noble cause of society unity around the unique singing art - life-giving source of spirituality of the nation."
