French jazz trumpeter Ibrahim Maalouf will perform on 26 June at Leopolis Jazz Fest

It will be his first visit to Ukraine.

Ibrahim Maalouf was born in Beirut (Lebanon) in a family of musicians. In the early 80's, he and his family left for Paris, where he received a brilliant education. In 2007 the debut disc of the trumpeter - album "Diasporas" was released, it was highly appreciated by the audience. Since then, Ibrahim Maalouf is one of the most successful instrumentalists in the French music scene. Ibrahim's works are known for its eclecticism, the musician combines Arabic music, jazz, rock and many other genres.

He is the winner of numerous artist competitions, and earned awards such as “Victoires de la Musique”, “Echo Jazz” in Germany, “César for Best Film Music” in 2016, and “Prix Lumières” for the best film music.

Last September, Ibrahim Maalouf released the eleventh studio album S3NS. Not strictly jazz, not exactly pop, and sometimes rock, the album is filled with freedom, mixed styles and moods, is fresh and at the same time nostalgic.

On this new album, Ibrahim is surrounded by highly talented guests, notably three virtuosos from the new generation of Cuban pianists – Harold López-Nussa, Alfredo Rodriguez and Roberto Fonseca – as well as the saxophonist Irving Acao and the violinist and singer Yilian Cañizares.

In Lviv, Ibrahim Maalouf will perform with 13 musicians on the stage. Together they will create a stunning show that pays tribute to Latin culture and Afro-cuban music.
