Grammy Awards winners 2019 are announced
Yesterday, 61st Grammy Awards ceremony took place in Los Angeles. The awards were presented in 84 different categories.
The list of winners in the field of jazz:
Best Improvised Jazz Solo - John Davers ("DO NOT FENCE ME IN")
Best Jazz Vocal Album - Cécile McLorin Salvant (THE WINDOW)
Best Jazz Instrumental Album - The Wayne Shorter Quartet (EMANON)
Best Large Jazz Ensemble Album - John Daverson's Big Band featuring DACA Artists ("AMERICAN DREAMERS: VOICES OF HOPE, MUSIC OF FREEDOM")
Best Latin Jazz Album - Daphne Prieto Big Band ("BACK TO THE SUNSET")
Quincy Jones received a statuette for the Best Music Film (for the documentary "QUINCY"). Buddy Guy won in the category the Best Traditional Blues Album ("THE BLUES IS ALIVE AND WELL").
