Leopolis Jazz Fest will take place on June 24-28, 2021 in compliance with all quarantine rules
The festival will be the first major concert event to be held in Ukraine since the beginning of the pandemic. An expert group will be set up to develop standards for holding mass events, which includes representatives of the organizing committee, the Lviv City Council, the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine, the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and UNICEF. It will also take into account the experience of experimental concerts in Europe, which have already taken place and the organizers follow the innovations and rules that implement the festivals this summer (for example, the International Jazz Festival in Montreux, which will take place on July 2-17, 2021).
A memorandum of cooperation and mutual understanding was signed between the festival and the Department of Culture of the Lviv City Council. The purpose of this Memorandum is to establish cooperation and consolidate efforts to implement the first unprecedented music festival in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, in compliance with all standards and restrictions within preparation and during the event.
A new reality for guests of Leopolis Jazz Fest
Due to unprecedented security measures, this year will establish new rules of etiquette and will be based on the interaction between organizers and the festival guests. As before, the festival will be held in an open-air format, which significantly reduces the risks. However, there will be a list of new rules:
- the number of guests in parterre, picnic areas will be halved;
- mass testing will be obligatorily for all festival guests who bought tickets;
- entrance to the picnic areas will be organized by pre-registration for a nominal fee to control the number of people;
- in case of a positive test or fever, the Organizing Committee refunds the guest funds for the tickets, and such guests are not allowed at the festival location;
- all locations of the festival will be equipped with disinfectants and follow all the recommendations in accordance with the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers № 1236 as of December 9, 2020;
- musicians, the organizing committee and contractors will also be tested.
