Meeting with a well-known producer, founder of the famous Dutch label Criss Cross Jazz, Gerry Teekens
On Sunday, 25 June, at 10:30 the meeting with a well-known producer, founder of the famous Dutch label Criss Cross Jazz, Gerry Teekens will take place at Vedel School in Lviv (12 Nalyvaika str.).
The entrance is free.
Gerry Teekens launched the Criss Cross Jazz label in 1980. Criss Cross records the most contemporary and up-to-date jazz music of New York. In an interview related to his label's 30th anniversary, Gerry Teekens said: "I can still do this work, I get a kick out of it. I don't get rich, but is that really necessary? If you have a lot of money you can afford established, expensive musicians on your label. But why should I want that? The young birds have fire, it squirts out. That is what I like and want, not the established ones."
On 25 June the Criss Cross All Stars feat. Mike Rodriguez, Will Vinson, Misha Tsiganov, Matt Brewer, Donald Edwards – a New York band of five famous musicians who have been recording on Criss Cross Jazz label – will perform on the Stage at Rynok Square.
